Northport Middle School Featured in Report on Toxic Schools.

On Tuesday, July 30, the Earth Law Center published the first draft of a policy report,  Toxic Schools: The Right to Environmental Health for Children in New York. The report focuses on three case studies — Bellport, Northport and Bethpage. It tells the story of the contaminants found in these schools and how the problems are being addressed by the respective districts.

We all owe a debt of gratitude to R-UTN member JOHN KOBEL for his hard work on behalf of the current and former students and staff of Northport Middle School. He has worked tirelessly to make everyone in the Northport – East Northport community aware of the ongoing problems at the school.

Please note that earlier today, when we posted the link to the report, we were unaware that it was only a draft and not for publication. The link has since been removed. When the final version of the report is ready for publication we will post a link on this webpage.
