Long Islanders will have the opportunity to learn from Mauro Stemberger, bonsai artist, architect and founder of the Italian Bonsai Dream, a workshop place in Italy, just north of Venice.  The Bonsai Society of Greater New York, Inc., the East Coast’s oldest bonsai club, is sponsoring Mr. Stemberger’s presentation at the William C. If you cannot get to the polls on Election Day, November 8, there is still time to request and absentee ballot. An application for an New York State absentee ballot may be submitted to your county Board of Elections up to seven days before the election — which means you have until Tuesday, November 1 to submit your application.

The A.C. Moore Arts and Crafts Stores is offering $25,000 in new Teacher Grants for Innovation and Creativity. The company will be awarding $100 gift cards to 250 teachers for the purpose of funding project-based, hands-on lessons that incorporate crafts into science, math, STEM/STEAM, social studies or language arts to enhance the learning experiences of their students.
