R-UTN member Pamela Waldroup is  proud to announce “OBSESSED WITH DETAILS: MUSEUM SPACES”,  her first solo photography exhibit in fotofoto gallery as a fotofoto gallery artist!  Pamela, who retired as an Northport High School art teacher in June, would like to invite fellow R-UTN members to the exhibit reception on Saturday, October 14 from 5 – 7 p.m. Fotofoto Gallery is located in Huntington Village at 14, West Carver Street, around the corner from the Paramount. Her photographs will be on exhibit from September 27 – October 28.

Denise Nicolosi, retired Norwood Avenue School teacher,  passed away on August 14.
The wake will be on Thursday at Clayton Funeral Home, Kings Park from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
The Funeral Mass is on Friday at St. Joseph’s Church in Kings Park @ 10:30 A.M.

Child Abuse Prevention Services Looking for Volunteers

For over 35 years,Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS), and a dedicated core of volunteers have been working together to keep every child safe from harm, and R-UTN member Teddy Emmanuel is one of the volunteers. Caps is Long Island’s leading resource on the prevention of child abuse and neglect and provider of youth violence prevention to all K-12 Nassau and Suffolk schools.

As a CAPS volunteer, she has presented developmentally appropriately, multi-media workshops to Long Island schools. The best way to reduce the effects of bullying,child abuse and neglect is to prevent it before it occurs. Education and empowerment are the keys.
