Sad News …

We are sorry to report  the passing of Deborah Ferrante, daughter of Frances and Robert Luther, on passed away on August 12, 2016. Frances taught was a music teacher who taught at the Northport junior high schools. Deborah was 47 years old and the mother of four children.Condolences can be sent to:

We are sad to announce the passing of Hank Jennings, one time teacher at Dickinson Avenue School, on September 19th. He was waked at Nolan’s in Northport and interred in Calverton. Donations in his names can be made to Good Shepard Hospice, 101 Bi-County Blvd,  Suite 114, Farmingdale NY 11735.  Condolence cards can be sent to his son Henry Jennings, 33 Dolphin Lane, Northport, NY  11768.

Northport Art Walk Today

Sad News …

Dean_PetersenDean Peterson, former NHS biology teacher, passed away on August 31st, 2016 at his home in Green Cove Springs, Florida. Dean and his wife Phyllis moved to Florida after his thirty-three years in Northport, where he continued to teach biology for ten years as an adjunct professor at Florida Community College at Jacksonville (FCCJ).

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, or Orange Park United Methodist Church, 2051 Park Ave, Orange Park, FL 32073.

Nancy-2We are sorry to announce the passing of Nancy Gustave, former Northport teacher and long time member of the Executive Board of the R-UTN 
Nancy had requested no ceremony when the time came – so she was quietly cremated. Wilfred requested that for those who wish to memorialize Nancy, that donations be made to the Hospice House.  Send donations to VNSHS, 101  Laurel  Rd, East Northport NY 11731, in memory of Nancy S. Gustave.
